Soustons Lake

At the foot of the city, the Soustons lake covers an area of 380 hectares and lies about 6 kms

The lake of Soustons is a vast fresh water Lake, fed by various rivers and the lakes further North.
In turn it feeds the Etang de Hardy, the "Etang Blanc & the Etang Noir", 2 nature reserves in Seignosse.
It also evacuates down the Courant de Soustons (River) to the "Etang de Pinsolle" & to the sea at Port d'Albret lake in Vieux Boucau.

The Lake has many activities, from the normal Beach activities at Azur (no beaches at the Soustons end, just grass banks, semi forest & parks at the waters edge), windsurfing, dingy Sailing, canoë-kayak & pedalos.
Marsh, Streams, small island, pine trees forest and privileged area for fishing.

L'Etang BlancThe Etang Blanc is also a protected Nature reserve with riche and varied fauna. Sandy bottom, a small beach, boats to row.... a place to relax. Fishing is permitted in the Etang Blanc.

The "Etang de Hardy" The smaller and less accessible. Separated from the "Etang Blanc" only by a bridge, it is a true natural reserve. Fishing is practiced a lot because it is very rich in fish.

The "Etang de Pinsolle" is the closest to the ocean. Around the lake is the 9 hole Pinsolle golf course whose characteristic is to offer the only practice on water in the Landes.
