The salt-lake in Hossegor is a nature reserve connected to the ocean by the Boudigau channel.
Surrounded by a pine forest, it has a very rare ecosystem, and being tidal, allows oyster farming.
The four beaches with lifeguards, the plage du Rey, the plage Blanche, the plage des Chênes-Lièges and the plage du Parc are easy to access, have limited parking and are ideal for the kids, sporting activities and for picnics in the shade of the pine trees.
The 6kms beautiful walk around the lake is lined with information boards, and is exclusively reserved for pedestrians.
