| Dax Fortifications & Ramparts Gallo-Roman, originally constructed in the 4th Century and reconstructed & modified in 1465 with 46 turrets and 4 gateways (A large part of the ramparts were destroyed in the last century). Today they still offer protection, but of a different kind, they provide ample shaded areas underneath the walls from the hot summer sun in the park Theodore Denis. There are also children's play areas located between the turrets. |
